Food festivals: using the palate to discover Tuscany

There are so many ways to discover Tuscany: with the eyes, with the soul, with the body… but today we’d love to tell you how to combine all these ways together by means of the palate. Not only you will fall in love with everything worth seeing here; you will also fall in love with the rich Tuscan gastronomic offer.

This summer there will be several food festivals (sagre, in Italian), both in and out of the Florentine area, and we have picked the next 4 of the original ‘Top 10’ made by magazine, The Florentine. Are you coming to Florence these days? Well, choose the most appealing sagra for you, and just dedicate yourself to enjoy.

-          2nd – 17th August: Sagra del Panigaccio, Podenzana, Massa Carrara.

What about having some typical Lunigiana-area bread with olive oil, cheese, cured meats and mushrooms?

-          Until 17th August: Festa del Mugello, ObiHall, Lungarno Aldo Moro, Florence.

A summer BBQ at the ObiHall; every day at 7pm.

-          12th – 21st August: Sagra della Ficamaschia, Porto Ercole.

The home of the ‘oily fish’. Aren’t you curious about it?

-          23rd – 31st August: Sagra del Cinghiale, Foro Boario, Borgo San Lorenzo.
