Besides being home to Il Salviatino, the Fiesole hills set a stunning location for one of Tuscany’s greatest summer traditions: the Estate Fiesolana. Like every year, the festival is bringing over 30 performances of music, dance, theater and cinema to the Roman Theater. However, the novelty for this 68th edition is the addition of a new stage, the unique Roman Thermal Bath at the Archaeological Site of Fiesole.
The festival has been ongoing since June 21st, but there are still many interesting shows that will be playing until the beginning of August. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the Gruppi da Camera dell’Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Saturday 18th), from the wonderful School of Music of Fiesole. If you’re more into cinema, you will surely enjoy the Maestri del Cinema gala (Sunday 19th), which will include a musical intervention by Claudio Simonetti and the showcase of a restored edition of Profondo Rosso (Dario Argento, 1979). After an homage to Louis Andriessen (Thursday 23rd) and a second performance from the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Sunday 26th), the Chilean band Inti-Illimani will close the Estate Fiesolana on Monday 3rd.
