Dear Partners and Friends,

We hope that you and yours are all well, safe and healthy. The current state of the globe has obliged all of us to slow down, re-organize our daily lives, and rethink the future of our beautiful planet. In choosing to see the glass half full, perhaps we’ve been given an opportunity we didn’t know we needed to pause, reset and refresh. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all of those who were affected.

Our darling Italy is resilient. As the European country hit the hardest, our leaders were also quick to react with measures that are now allowing us Italians to become reacquainted with a sense of normality and a commitment to our safety and that of our neighbors. With much happiness and hope we are watching our charming cities slowly reopen. Museums are once again inspiring visitors, bars and restaurants are delighting its locals, and signs of a lovely summer are emerging as beach clubs become dotted with colorful umbrellas.

For guests dreaming of visiting Il Salviatino, exciting things are in store, as we pave a bright path forward and enter a new era in hospitality that celebrates wellness, sustainability, our natural surroundings, and classic Italian traditions. In working to reimagine the unique experience our guests have come to adore, we have decided to postpone our reopening to March 11, 2021, using this short break to enrich our services in ways that will create meaningful stays and memories for your clients.

Works are already underway. In an effort to uphold and grow our sustainability efforts, we are enhancing our organic orchard and vegetable garden with newly planted olive trees. Steps away, our swimming pool will offer a new poolhouse restaurant, where guests can enjoy fresh dishes surrounded by Tuscan pines. Our spa facility will be expanded, and new programming is being developed to surprise and delight our younger guests.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have now adopted additional measures, procedures and protocols to ensure every stay with us is even more magical, safe and clean.

Please find below an update on the new Comfort and Health & Safety initiatives we have implemented to give you peace of mind about future stays so you can book – and stay with us! – with confidence.

This page shall be regularly updated with the latest information regarding both Comfort and Health & Safety measures and you are therefore kindly invited to check it from time to time prior to reservation and check-in.

Enhanced Health & Safety at Il Salviatino

The new Health & Safety measures have been adopted in compliance with the current directives of the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019) and of national/local governmental and health authorities.

  • Guests will be required to sign health declarations and liability waiver forms upon arrival.
  • Hand sanitizers shall be placed at guest contact areas such as hotel lobbies, breakfast room, restaurants, conference spaces.
  • In order to minimize risks, contactless check-in and check-out shall be encouraged.
  • Branded welcome kit including personal protective equipment (PPE) – namely: face masks, portable hand sanitizers and disposable gloves – shall be provided to all guests.
  • Enhanced health and safety training for all employees shall be put in place ranging from social distancing awareness to the correct procedures for wearing PPE as well as case monitoring and notification procedures.
  • The employees shall be regularly subject to temperature checks, have to sign health declarations and constantly wear PPE.
  • Paper amenities (like newspapers, newsletters and guest directories) shall be reduced throughout the whole hotel.
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection shall be significantly increased across all hotel spaces.
  • High touch areas – such as reception counters, elevator buttons, light switches, door handles, bathrooms – shall undergo an even more frequent sanitization.
  • More rigorous cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms shall be ensured.
  • A more frequent change of guest rooms’ bedding and linens (to be bagged in the room to minimize contact) shall take place.
  • Bedding and linens shall be washed with disinfectant and at higher temperatures to ensure their sterilization.
  • Appropriate table distancing measures in breakfast areas and restaurants shall be adopted.
